We want every experience at Meso to be clear, fair, and uncomplicated. These policies exist to protect your time, our team, and the studio we share. If you have any questions before booking, please reach out — we would rather answer them upfront than leave anything uncertain.
Section 1 — Workshops
Can I reschedule my workshop date?
Rescheduling requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, — if approved, a $20 administrative fee per booking applies. New workshop date will need to be rescheduled within 4 weeks from old booking.
Can I cancel my workshop booking and get a refund?
No refunds/exchanges/changes will be permitted once booking is confirmed.
What happens if I am unwell before my pottery class?
You may call upon a replacement participant to attend the workshop in your place. The studio is not responsible or obliged to find a replacement for you. Rescheduling is allowed at $20 per booking if you are unable to find a replacement participant.
What happens if I do not show up for my booked class?
No-shows are treated as utilised sessions and cannot be refunded, rescheduled, changed or transferred to someone else.
What happens if I am late for my workshop?
Participants are highly encouraged to arrive at least 5 mins before their workshop start time so they are ready to watch and listen to the demonstration. Participants who are more than 15mins late for the class will miss the demonstration which will not be repeated again.
Can I make plates in a pottery workshop at Meso?
Plates have a higher tendency to crack during firing and are generally not recommended during our workshops. You are welcome to attempt them.
Section 2 — Courses & The Practice Membership
Can I get a refund after purchasing a pottery course or membership?
Courses are refundable if the starting date is more than 2 weeks away. Membership plans are only refundable if commencement of plan has not begun. Refund will not include any third-party commission charges.
What happens to unused sessions in my pottery course or unused hours in my membership?
Unused sessions in your pottery course are not refundable/exchangeable/transferable. The Practice membership allows the rollover of up to 5 hours upon membership renewal.
Can I share my pottery course or membership package with someone else?
No, packages are non-transferable and for the enrolled student’s use only.
What happens if I missed a lesson?
Missed a session? We will try our best to schedule a make-up lesson with our next intake, though there are no guarantees. Do keep in mind that the curriculum may differ slightly depending on where the group is in the programme at that point.
When does my pottery course or membership plan expire?
Validity begins from the date of payment. We do not send reminders so please note down your own expiry date. Upon expiry you may take home your tool set, remaining clay, any greenwares and paid firings. All uncollected belongings will be disposed of after the expiry date with no reminders.
What are the studio etiquettes at Meso Ceramics?
Students are expected to clean up their workspace, wheels, tools, and general area at the end of every session. All equipment should be returned to its original location. A general purpose mop is provided and students are expected to leave the work area as how they found it. An etiquette guide will be sent to all students and members upon package purchase.
Can I bring my friend or pet along for my session?
No friends/family members/partners/pets are allowed to accompany you during your session in the studio unless the studio has given you advance explicit permission to do so. You are not allowed to share your studio access code with them as well. This is for the safety and security of our studio, our properties and our members.
Section 3 — Fired Works
How long does it take for my pottery pieces to be ready?
All works will take a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks before they are ready for pick up. You will be instructed to join our studio’s WA group chat to be notified of your works’ readiness.
What are the studio's collection days and timings?
Weds to Fri : 1pm to 6pm
Sat: 10am to 12pm , 1.30pm to 6pm
Sun: 10am to 12pm, 1.30pm to 5.30pm
Our studio may be closed on certain days/weeks. Please refer to the most updated announcements on the WA group chat.
Will my pottery piece look exactly as I made it after firing?
Handmade pieces will show minor variations after firing in regards to overall shape and size. All pieces will shrink by up to 30% in height and width. Glaze colours may differ slightly from tile samples due to kiln conditions.
Why are there cracks along the walls and at the base of my pottery?
We highly encourage everyone to read up on our cracked works policy form before signing up for our classes. All participants will need to fill it up and sign off before attending any of our classes.
The studio and its team are not responsible for cracks that forms after the workshop as clay material are inherently unpredictable. No guarantee is offered regarding the final quality of your work. Replacements are evaluated individually. Generally the pot will still be functional if there are no cracks internally.
Can the studio repair or fix my cracked pottery?
No, the studio is unable to mend or fix the cracks on your works.
What happens if I do not collect my finished pottery pieces?
You will be given 4 weeks to pick up your finished works after the date of notification in the WA group chat. All unclaimed works will be discarded or donated once the collection window closes.
Does the studio offer delivery services for finished works?
Delivery services are not available currently. You are welcome to arrange and order for your own courier delivery during our stipulated collection days and timings.
Section 4 — Studio Etiquette
Can I bring a friend or family member to watch my pottery class?
Only participating students are permitted inside the studio. For underage children participating in the classes, one guardian is allowed to accompany them.
Can I bring food or drinks into the pottery studio?
No food or drinks are allowed inside the studio. Only clear water is allowed. We seek your kind understanding.
What should I prepare or bring for my class?
Please come in comfortable, loose clothings that you do not mind getting a little clay on is highly recommended. You will be expected to remove your shoes before entering the studio. Long hair must be tied up for your safety and long nails trimmed short for your comfort and ease while working with soft clay. Please avoid bringing valuable items/jewellery/bags as we do not provide lockers for safekeeping of your belongings.
